The Annual Primitive Cafe Spring Wild Edibles and Gourmet Cooking Class

This is a two day wild edible plant course. The first day is a guided walk through different mountain habitats identifying many plants, shrubs and trees. The class covers harvesting basics like when and where to safely collect plants and conservation techniques. We will collect plants for cooking in the next day's class. There will be some plant preparation after the formal class that goes into the evening for those that are staying for the second day. We traditionally serve Wild Ramp pizza that evening. The second day we will cook our collected bounty into a tasty meal. All participants will help prep and cook.

May - October
  Volunteer Weekend
Sometimes we could use extra hands up in the mountains of West Virginia and we’d love to have you join us. For four hours of work per day, you can tent or stay in a cabin free, and we’ll feed you too!
After our four hour session each day, you’ll be free to continue with projects, explore the region, hike, bike, wade, or just hang out at beautiful Abrams Creek. On Saturday evening we’ll have a bonfire, drumming, sharing circle, and/or whatever people want to organize.
Visit Facebook Events for more details. Space is limited - please contact Volunteer Coordinator for RSVP and to reserve cabin space.
